Abstract

This paper examines the relevance of the university based in-service teacher educative program to the quantitative and qualitative improvement of classroom instruction. The development of the program is traced in two phases; before and after 1975 Its contribution to teacher advancement is noted; but operating within university framework   the program has not generally been responsive and flexible to the needs of the schools, often tilting towards for
