Endeavors to improve immunization uptake in Ethiopia

Abstract

In 1980, the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) was initiated by the Ministry of Health, with the objective of reaching 90% coverage among children under 1year of age by the year 1990 (1). The vaccination schedule since then has been in accordance with that recommended by WHO for developing countries (2).
