THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN ESLCE SCORES AND STUDENTS' ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS AT BAHIR DAR TEACHERS COLLEGE

Abstract

This study attempted to find out the
relationships among seven variables with regard to
regular diploma students at Bahir Dar Teachers College.
The variables were ESLCE overall GPA, freshmanfirst
semester GPA, cumulative GPA at graduation
or dismissal and the grades in English and Mathematics
(both in ESLCE and first year first semester).
Correlational analysis and examination of mean score
differences revealed that grades scored in the college
are consistent whereas the ESLCE variables have weak
relation either among themselves or with the scores
earned in the college.
